Final Preparations 1/21/06
Submitted by woodstrehl on Sat, 01/21/2006 - 8:56am.January 18, 2006
I told Anne today that I haven’t had a day off since I quit work. I need a break. This year so far we have bought a motor home and a car, sold one car, sold a house, moved property into storage and segregated our travel gear (some 600 pounds of it) from everything else in the house that has gone to auction. Today, we began loading the Winnebago Minnie Coach that will be our home for much of the next six months.
One accumulates considerable property over 24 years in a large house. It is difficult to part with many things such as large books and crystal balls that make little sense in the confined space of a motor home.

DFC
Submitted by Kara on Fri, 01/20/2006 - 5:04pm.Hello Everybody,
I hope you are all doing well. I have had a great time in my first week here at the DFC. Surprisingly enough, because it's no-sodium, but the food is pretty good and you are very well fed. The lack of salt is pretty noticable, as is the incredibly small portion sizes. It really just takes getting used to. I survive by scheduling myself to allow for peanut butter every now and then. I like that you get to plan your own meal.
The classes have been very good as well. The main focuses are Fitness, Nutrition, Medical and Behavioral Health. So the approach is really well rounded.

Starting Our New Life
Submitted by woodstrehl on Sun, 01/08/2006 - 10:18am.Yesterday was Anne's last day at work. It was bittersweet leaving the office after 26 years of practice as a Family Physician. Sweet, because it has been a rewarding and difficult career. Bitter, because it is sad saying good-bye to patients and staff. Chuck's final day will be January 6th. That same day we will pick up our Winnegago Minnie, a 29 foot preowned class C motorhome with 2 slide outs. We are buying it from a friend of a colleague of Chuck's who has used it for tailgaiting at PennState football games.
We feel like teanagers starting a new life and are excited about the possibilities. Over the next 2 weeks we will be packing what we need for the next 6 months, putting a small amount of furnature, books, and personal items in storage. The rest will go to auction. After closing on our Springettsbury house we will head to Florida to visit Anne's parents and do some wilderness camping in the Everglades using the canoe.

Let me know what you think
Submitted by Mark on Sat, 01/07/2006 - 9:30pm.I am trying to see whether this is powerful enough to replace the Nucleus blog.
Let me have your comments. This program is very easy to use so don't get scared. You can post something like this in a few minutes time.
You can set up your own blog (journal). Mom Woods -- is this you? Or you can comment on another blog like Anne and Chuck's.
