Second Medical Check-in

We get checked in every Wednesday here and have an opportunity to meet with a Dr. At other points in the week we meet with our Behavioral Health and Nutrition specialists individually.

The check-in (and weigh-in) have been serious positive motivators. There's always a worry that you're not working hard enough or that for some reason the fat is gonna just refuse to come off. But I've been very satisfied so far. Some of my friends are finding it more difficult since the first week, and the loss of all our water weight, to keep losing, because of physical limitations when working out, or menopause...some things really slow down your metabolism.:) Being young and having a relatively high resting metabolic rate are helpful in this case.

I ate with my VIP at dinner tonight. He appreciated my crafty use of calorie planning in order to make peanut butter toast for dessert.:) I got pics. Don't worry.

caffeine and salt

What do they say about caffeine and salt. I feel like I need a pick me up now since I got up early or is it better to just rest or just try to keep productive? Hope you don't mind my questions.

Caffeine and Salt

They don't really offer caffeine at the DFC. It's not really condusive to weight loss...and neither is not getting enough sleep. The diet here is much more low-sodium than it is anything else. We can eat carbs and fat...as long as we count our calories, but nobody is supposed to add salt unless their blood pressure gets low. We're getting about 1500 mgs a day and the recommended dose is about 2000 mgs I think. Most Americans eat 3000 mgs or more.
