Visit to the Vatican...

So this morning Emily and I went to the Vatican Museum. It was great to see it, even more impressive the second time. The Sisteen Chapel is really as amazing as its reputation. We haven't had a chance to climb the Dome at St. Peter's yet. I did it last time I came and know it's amazing, I'm just not 100 % sure Ill have a chance to get to it before I leave. This afternoon we relaxed at a cafe around a Piazza and tonight we're making our way to a long dinner and gelato. We've been walking around the city a lot. Everything is very accessible and my friend's apartment is right outside St. Peter's Basilica.

Tomorrow we plan on taking a tour of the Coloseum and the Palatino? Looking forward to it. Saturday I will be the only visitor left in Rome so Ona and I have discussed leaving the city to check out the Catacombs.

Love you all. (Home on Sunday.)

Sistine Chapel

I've always wanted to see Michaelangelo's fresco there, so I'm glad you were able to. Your mother, Frank, and I had a great trip to Europe including Italy during our college years.

Enjoy!!

Kara, It really sounds like you're having a great time with your friends! When you are back home and get a chance to come to visit, we'll have to take you to Villa Italia. It is a small cafe downtown that reminds us so much of the cafes in Italy (great coffees and gelato). We also have a new Crepery in town, but I've never been to France so I have no idea if their crepes are authentic (but they are delicious). We enjoy hearing about your trip so keep blogging. BTW, our high school play, Pippin, openned last night to sold out crowd (unfortunately, it is now sold out for the entire week). It was so much fun!! The kids really did a great job.
