Dharamsala, Manali Village, Delhi, and Taj Mahal
Submitted by Dan on Wed, 10/25/2006 - 3:16am.So, let me start by apologizing for waiting so long to post a blog on here. I have been in India for 4 and a half weeks now and the whole experience has been very rewarding. Part of the reason it has been so rewarding is that there has been very little free time, and with the time that my fellow classmates and I get, we of course have many sights to see and things to do. On top of this, the internet in the hotel we are staying at (The Oakwood in Pune/Poona) has had spotty internet and when it is up it is often slow especially when many of us are trying to use the wireless (which also makes it very difficult to share photos). However, enough excuses. I feel bad for not filling you all in earlier. But maybe i can make up for it now.
place to find new music
Submitted by Dan on Tue, 08/08/2006 - 11:23am.this is a great site for people who find themselves always listening to the same old music. If you wish there was something fresh to listen to which you also enjoyed try out
www.pandora.com
it's free because it comes with some ads on the side of the page (no audio ads though to interrupt the music!) and it's easy because you just put in an artist you like or even simply one song you like and it starts playing music for you.
if you're familiar with Launchcast from yahoo you'll find it very similar. I like it because it actually plays and works on my Apple computer unlike Launchcast and t

it argues it is not caused by humans' increased emission of CO2 and other greenhouse gases.

I'll be there from late September until early December learning about the region's culture and history, traveling around the country, and learning some Hindi. I'm very very excited and happy!

Submitted by Dan on Tue, 02/14/2006 - 10:17pm.I recently "subscribed" freely to NPR's podcast from the iTunes music store (you should all check out podcasts if you have an ipod and EVEN if you have only iTUNES - you can still listen to the free podcasts on your computer) it's nice to be able to listen at your own leisure.
On this podcast they give the day's "best" segment and today's was on blogging, which I found relevant to this new site.
The woman was talking about how her husband and she now measured events by whether or not they were "blog-worthy" and that her husband would be disappointed if she hadn't read his blog before going to bed. It was very funny in parts - if you can get the podcast and download 2/14's installment you should listen to it.
