Mary and I had a wonderful visit with my sister Gloria and her family in Upland, CA last week. Present during our visit were all six of Gloria's children and all but one spouse. Also, present was Gloria's new friend Cal. Gloria and Cal met recently while attending a bereavement group. All the family appear to be doing great.

Craig and Linda, who live next door, provided us with sleeping accommodations at Linds's Mom's house, about a 15 minute drive. Linda's Mom has moved to a retirement home. Her luxurious home is on the market but had all the necessary furniture, etc. to make a most comfortable stay. Kristen is becoming an accomplished flute player. Melanie's gymnastic performance was impressive.

Bruce and family were busy buying supplies to take to Senegal. They are leaving in mid August for a 3 year stay in the capitol, Dakar. Bruce also gathered about 10 of Gloria's grandsons in her swimming pool scuba lesson's. Bruce is a certified instructor and the boys really enjoyed the activity. Dakar is on the Atlantic coast and Bruce expects it to provide excellent scuba opportunities.

Roger and Carlene are busy with their thriving computer repair and distilled water business. It was great to have the opportunity to visit with Bill & Marilyn and Keith and Cindy and families. We are thankful that Keith had a successful operation on his arm. Ruth and Danika had a show and tell of their Australian adventures. Craig and Linda took some of the more energetic family members to their tennis club to play on several occasions.
