Grandma Bracewell's Sugar Cookies

I c. granulated sugar

I c. powdered sugar

1 c. margarine

I/2 c. oil

2 beaten eggs

2 tsp. vanilla

1/2 tsp. salt

I tsp. cream of tartar

I tsp. soda

51/4 c. flour

Cream sugar and margarine. Add well beaten eggs. Mix in oil
and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients and work into sugar mixture. Roll
into small balls. Dip in granulated sugar mixed with nutmeg. Press
flat with a glass and fork. No need to grease pan. Bake at 350° for
13 to 15 minutes. I add what I have in the way of candied pineapple
pieces or red and green cherry pieces or pecan halfs.
