Grandma Bracewell's Date Pinwheel Cookies

I c. brown sugar

3 1/2 c. flour

I c. white sugar

I tsp. cinnamon

I c. margarine or butter

1/4 tsp. water

3 eggs, beaten

I c. nuts

Cream sugars and butter. Add beaten eggs. Add dry ingredients.
Mix well. Roll dough out 1/2-inch thick.

FILLING:

3/4 lb. dates, cut fine

1/2 c. water

1/2 c. sugar

Make filling by combining ingredients in saucepan and cooking
until thick. Cool and add chopped nuts. Spread on rolled out dough
and roll up like jelly roll. Chill overnight. Slice and bake at 3500 until
light brown.
