Must be Boca Grande Feb.23!
We all (Bob and Cathy, Mary Helen, Tony, Margaret. Anna and Emily, John, Kristy, David, and Karen, and Dad and I), left Siesta Bay for Captiva Cruises and left on a catamaran for Gasparilla Island and the town of Boca Grande. The day was perfect, warm, sunny and the breeze delightful to breathe. When we landed Norb rented a six-person golf cart, and the others rented two four-person carts, and with Bob Hoffman at the wheel we drove down Gulf Road into a world we never knew existed. The houses were elegant beyond belief, all along the coast. We stopped at the South Beach Park. John and Kristy sat at a table outdoors at the South Beach Bar and Grill. The rest of us reclined on the beach and ate sandwiches and fruit. Riding in our carts back downtown, the girls shopped at Fresh Produce for colorful T-shirts, and back on the boat for a gorgeous, restful trip back to Captiva. We went to the Bubble Room for supper and dessert and home through Sanibel to watch the Olympics, women's figure skating. The day was absolutely delightful, due partly to Norb's decision for us all to rent golf carts. We were thinking of all of you and would love to have had you with us. We will do this again. Love to all.

I am sorry I wasn't there
Sounds like a lot of fun. One thing I have taken away from your description and Anne and Chuck's blog is the wonderful diversity of terrain and wildlife in the Florida state parks. There is a very interesting web site for the parks maintained by the state of Florida. The Gasparilla Island page is here.
Have you visited Vanderbilt Beach in North Naples? It is just south of Delnor-Wiggens Pass State Park. Sounds like it is considered to be one of the best beaches in Florida.
