Second Medical Check-in

We get checked in every Wednesday here and have an opportunity to meet with a Dr. At other points in the week we meet with our Behavioral Health and Nutrition specialists individually.

The check-in (and weigh-in) have been serious positive motivators. There's always a worry that you're not working hard enough or that for some reason the fat is gonna just refuse to come off. But I've been very satisfied so far. Some of my friends are finding it more difficult since the first week, and the loss of all our water weight, to keep losing, because of physical limitations when working out, or menopause...some things really slow down your metabolism.:) Being young and having a relatively high resting metabolic rate are helpful in this case.

Screamin Mean Greens

SCREAMIN' MEAN GREENS

SERVES 4 TO 6

2 medium onions, chopped

1/4 cup vegetable oil

2 jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped (optional)

5 pounds assorted greens, such as collard, kale, mustard, and turnip greens, rinsed, tough stems discarded, torn into large pieces

One (1 1/2-pound) smoked turkey wing

Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper

1. In a large pot, combine onions, 2 cups water, oil, and jalapeños, if using; bring to a boil over high heat. In batches, stir in greens, allowing greens to wilt between each addition. Add turkey wing, covering it with greens. Season with salt and pepper. Cover, reducing heat to medium-low, and cook, stirring occasionally, just until greens are tender, about 30 minutes; do not overcook greens.

sudoku worksheets and favorite puzzles would be a nice addition maybe I can add these if someone else doesn't do it easily

not sure what the best way is to format a family calendar but this is great fun. I had fun skimmin over stuff and will look at more this weekend love you all, Patty
