Truckin' along
Submitted by Kara on Tue, 02/07/2006 - 6:44pm.So I'm now in my fourth week...scary. I'm excited to be more than half done. I'm having a really good time here and am really happy with the program, but I know that in a few weeks I will definitely be ready to leave and to see the family.
The salmon tonight had a really great mango sauce I'm going to have to try and make once I get home. They sell their cookbook here so it'll be interesting to see if I'm able to make the food as gourmet as they serve it. The chocolate tofu is seriously to die for.
Exercising is becoming more and more of a habit, but because we do it for so long every day...I'm finding the need to jump from machine to machine to the pool in order to get as much time in as I want to.

Submitted by MH on Tue, 02/07/2006 - 6:22pm.Maskdoc is a friend of Anne and Chucks. Anne and Chuck are using this blog site to keep in touch with family and friends. Their friends need to log on to be able to reply to Anne and Chuck. Friends of the family will have access to blogs only - not forum entries, genealogy or calendar or gallery pictures. Let us know how this works for you.
Jeffrey Goldberg article in The New Yorker
Submitted by Tom on Tue, 02/07/2006 - 12:11pm.I recommend this aricle about Michael Gerson, President Bush's speechwriter, which apears in the 2/13 & 2/20 New Yorker. It is available on line here.
Super bowl commercials
Submitted by Tom on Mon, 02/06/2006 - 5:50pm.I couldn't remember many of the commercials this year--maybe the Fed Ex commercial about 'package not make it.' I only heard a little bit on ESPN Radio this morning --Mike & Mike mentionednone about a lizard giving birth, that they didn't understand. I didn't see that one.
Anyway-happy to see Pittsburgh win, but Seattle really blew it, in many different ways. Now to work off that pizza (and I did get wings, too--thanks Patty!)
Monday Feb 6
Submitted by Norb on Mon, 02/06/2006 - 11:00am.Back from New York City. Wonderful evening with MH and Mark D. We met at Vino, a wine store in NYC on 27th (Pk and Lex). Tasted some wines from Fruli (near Venice) and some Brunellos. Then went across the street to one of our favorite restaurants, owned by the same guy as Vino, called
I Trulli. The name is from stone huts in the countryside in Puglia, the boot of Italy.
Appetizers of braised scallops, octapus, and salad. Entries of Bronzino (like sea bass), rolled Veal, and dumplings (small like pasta) and Shrimp.
Great time!
sat. night we two went to the Opera at Lincoln Center and saw La Traviata. Wonderful performance.

Amateur Blogger : )
Submitted by Samantha on Sat, 02/04/2006 - 8:46pm.Hi everyone,
I am getting ready to graduate soon, in August, and join the masses in earning my keep. This semester is pretty taxing, we are doing 12 hour clinical rotations at New York Presbyterian hospital in the city.
The people we are working with have so many chronic illnesses and sometimes it is a little overwhelming. But the gratitude and hope I see in their eyes reminds me why we fight every day...to live one more day...to love one more day...because of our family and the people whom we care for and who love us in return.
Take care everyone...love and hugs to all.
First time blog
Submitted by Mike on Sat, 02/04/2006 - 8:12pm.I'm finally able to take some time and join the world of blogging. The past 3 weeks since Sam and I got back from the Virgin Islands all I've been doing is working. We just finished up our Rollout 2 data loads at the pharmaceudical company where I'm currently working. They are doing a three phase SAP implementation. For those of you not familiar with SAP its computer software that many large corporations use to run their businesses. During Rollout 1 we implemented the sales and distribution module of SAP. Rollout 2 is to implement purchasing and manufacturing for a plant in Virginia. Rollout 3 will be to implement purchasing and manufacturing for all the other plants.
